Professor Straka is vice-dean for science-research activities and education in the third degree of study at the Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnologies, Technical University of Košice (Slovakia, EU). His research interests include simulation systems, distribution logistics, multimedia communication and presentation, methods of optimization of logistic systems. He is the study program supervisor of the 1^st stage of Industrial Logistics, co-guarantor of the 3^rd stage of Industrial Logistics and co-guarantor of habilitation and inauguration in the field of logistics.

• Gold medal of the Slovak Society for Applied Cybernetics and Informatics for Science and Research, ZSVTS (2022).
• Silver medal of the Slovak Society for Applied Cybernetics and Informatics for Science and Research, ZSVTS (2016).
• The 1^st place of the 4^th International Conference “Logistics systems in economy – IT solutions” for category Poster Session (Zielona Gora 2016).
• The 3^rd place of the Carpathian Logistics Congress for category Poster Session (Jeseník 2015).
• Editor-in-Chief of Acta Logistica international scientific journal (from 2014).
